Trip 2 - Day 2
January 6, 2008

Well I am awake and the jet lag is off so I can really give a great post. As I said the airlines flights were fine. We went to Amsterdam instead of Germany. They have beds in the airport so anyone can sleep, that was much needed. They also have a play area to tire that baby out on the way home for the long flights. Being 1/2 Dutch it was great to see some local culture but too quick now that I can fly internationally, I am ready to go places with baby in tow.

We flew into Karaganda late at night and in the morning as I mentioned we went right to the baby house, for the past month and one week all I could do was pray for her safety, and that she would remember us. I  literally ran upstairs after I took off my shoes and there she was in her crib. She looked at us and jumped up and down, I cried so hard I had to turn into Ben's chest. She has 2 new top teeth, the pink eye is gone and she is still wearing a size 6-9 months right now. Tiny, tiny shoes, crib shoes almost. When they said we could take custody of our daughter, I cried so much, thanking every doctor and every staff person who was there, it was Saturday
so not many people were around.

It is freezing cold and today is Christmas day so there are decorations everywhere. We went shopping for baby food, diapers, and chocolate, for me. We also had time to go to the museum of culture, it was really nice. I love the Kazakh people and if we ever get a chance to come again I would.

Ava is beautiful; she slept in my arms for 2 nights now, her little hands wrapped in mine, it makes me cry, my moment I have waited so long for. Today we will go sight seeing and shopping with her in her down baby suit bundled up like the Michelin man and have Christmas dinner with our friends in their apartment.

We now fly out to Almaty and do our exit trip with the US embassy, and then home. Colene, Julie, you know I am a puddle of tears, you made my dream come true. There is not a better agency out there.  I will try and down load some photos when I get a chance to go to the Internet cafe; right now when the angel sleeps so do we. She is proof that God answers prayers in his time. Talk about faith. I know all our friends and family have prayed for us to. It took a village to have this child, and I will raise her with the knowledge of Gods love.
